Zendure, a popular powerbank brand that started on kickstarter, is known for their extremely durable powerbanks. In this review we’ll be taking a look at the Zendure A8 Quick Charge 3.0 Power Bank.
Design and Portability
A sturdy construction is an important aspect in a powerbank, especially if you’re going to take it on rough rides with camping, fishing, hiking or other outdoor activities. At first glance, the Zendure A8 looks like a metal brick that can weather through even the toughest of circumstances. It’s layered in a thick shock-absorbing, crush proof material and feels like a tank. It’s quite heavy and weighs 1.1 pounds, but even dropping it or throwing it around the room doesn’t put a scratch on it, even with such a weight.
Some users have even tested its toughness by running it over with a car, and it came out just fine. Honestly, this is by far the toughest power bank I’ve ever seen and even Anker and Jackery’s devices don’t come close to the construction of this Zendure powerbank.
It measures 4.7 x 2.9 and is 1.6 inches thick. Which is about the thickest we’ve seen on a power bank. It’s not as portable as most power banks, But to to be fair though, it does have a huge capacity and four charge ports so you can’t really expect it to be small. For a device with as much ports as this one, it’s actually relatively compact. It can easily be taken with you in a backpack or in the included travel pouch.
Measurements: | 4.7 x 2.9 x 1.6 inches |
Weight: | 498g (1.1 lbs) |
Features
The Zendure A8 isn’t just an indestructible beast, but is also packed with features. It has the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology, which means it’s able to charge devices extremely fast. However, there is only one port for it, and your device needs to support the Quick Charge 3.0 or 2.0 feature as well, otherwise it’ll just charge at normal rate. Check out this list to see if your device supports the Quick Charge 3.0 feature.
Another thing we really like seeing on powerbanks is pass-through charging. This means you can charge your devices while the powerbank itself is being charged. This is especially useful on this powerbank, as it has a whopping four charge ports so you can charge four devices simultaneously, and the powerbank at the same time. It’s compatible with most USB charged devices. Ranging from iPhone and Android phones, to tablets and digital cameras. However, some devices with extremely small batteries (lower than 120mA), are not supported. This includes some smartwatches and fitness trackers as well.
The Zendure A8 power bank is equipped with an LED screen that shows exactly how much battery is left in the tank. This is extremely convenient, especially on such a huge capacity device as this one.
Charging ports: | 4 (3.1A max per port) |
Smartports: | Yes |
Compatible with: | Smartphone, tablet, digital camera etc. (most micro USB devices) |
Pass through charging: | Yes |
Qualcomm Quick Charge: | Yes (2.0 and 3.0) |
Battery indication: | Battery percentage on LED screen |
Flashlight: | No |
Power
The Zendure A8 Power Bank has an impressive capacity of 26800mAh. It can charge an average smartphone seven to nine times. The QC ports outputs up to 12V which means you can even charge a 2015 Macbook up to three times. However, it’s more meant for tablets, smartphones and other devices so if you’re looking for a dedicated laptop powerbank it’s best to check out some 19V powerbanks like the MAXOAK.
Thanks to the Quick Charge 3.0 function it can charge QC supported devices in under an hour, which is about twice as fast as most powerbanks. Using the Quick Charge function does seem to drain the power bank quicker than usual though, but that’s to be expected.
You’d think that charging a massive capacity power bank as this would take a very long time to recharge. But, using a QC2.0 or 3.0 wall charger, it’ll only take a mere 10 hours. Which is relatively quick compared to others at this powerlevel. You do need to get one of these QC chargers individually though, as they don’t come with the powerbank. However, these are not expensive at all and you can get one here on Amazon.
Power capacity: | 26,800 mAh |
Total max output: | 3.1A |
Time to charge itself: | 10+ hours |
Conclusion
There’s not much wrong with this power bank. In fact, I can’t name one flaw. Well, it’s not as portable as some, but for a powerbank that’s packed with features and a huge capacity as this one, it’s not that sizeable. The Zendure A8 is not only a durable beast, but is a premium quality device that’s perfect for outdoor activities or for those who need a tough device that can be dropped on the reg. It has great power, four charge ports, charges quick, is as sturdy as it gets, and looks remarkably awesome.

Hi Marcelo, very sorry to hear that. We therefore highly recommend buying from trusted sources like Amazon or Walmart only.
Hi . I bought this battery charger and when I am charging my mobile I loose 10% of the charger power to change only 1or2% of my mobile rate .is this a failure in the charger which is zendure A8QC 26,800MAH
sincerely
Hi Ali,
Does this problem occur in every of the four charging ports or only in the (green) QC charging port? If the latter, it could be that your phone is not Quick Charge compatible. If the problem occurs with every charging port then it is most likely a power bank defect and you need to contact the seller for a replacement. Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Karl
This problem only occured at the fast charging port . I will find out if the reason is the mobile not expecting the fast charging.
Thanks for answering me .
Have a good day
