Urban Revolt is an up-and-coming brand you probably haven’t heard of yet. Just like Xtorm they’re quite well known in Europe for their quality power banks but have yet to make a name for themselves in the US. Here we’ll be taking a look at a budget power bank called the Urban Revolt Powerbank 4400.
Design and portability
Looks, while not the biggest priority when choosing a power bank, can have some influence on a buyer’s decision. Most power banks have a rather dull and boring design and don’t blend well with other devices. The Urban Revolt 4400 on the other hand is one of the most aesthetically pleasing power banks we’ve seen yet.
The color combination has a similar vibe to it as Beats by dre headphones. Its glossy white, combined with a sleek red line give it a premium designer look and it looks great next to any device when charging. The power bank is equipped with 4 blue LED lights which blends in perfectly with the other colors. It’s rather small and measures almost the exact same as the Xtorm Air 6000 we reviewed earlier, and It fits right in about any pocket, back or front, and is so lightweight you’ll barely feel it when carrying it with you.
The cable that comes with the power bank is a bit short and it would’ve been nice if it was just a little longer for more reach and mobility when charging.
Features
The power bank has a button on the side which can be used to turn on the power bank and show how much battery is still left, which is indicated by blinking blue LED lights. A small nuisance though is that the led lights keep blinking when charging a device.
When pressed twice the power bank can be used as a flashlight which, while not really necessary, can come in pretty handy sometimes. Of course, using the flash light drains the battery of the power bank so use it wisely.
Like you can see in the photo the Urban Revolt Powerbank 4400 has only one USB slot and therefore can’t be used to charge multiple devices.
Power
The power of the Urban Revolt Powerbank 4400 is not great to say the least. It has a power capacity of 4400 mAh which is enough to charge your smartphone twice if you’re lucky. It has an output of only 5 volt and amperage of 1, so it is definitely not capable of charging tablets. However, it’s a cheap device so you can’t really expect it to, and it does exactly what it should do for the price range it’s in.
Conclusion
Definitely not the greatest overall power bank, but a nice bang for the buck and it certainly has style compared to most power banks.
